The Role
To support our growth ambitions in APAC, Westwood Global Energy Group requires a Business Development Manager to lead our new business efforts. They will need to proactively research, target and communicate with prospect companies to identify and convert new business opportunities.
Primarily you will be responsible for driving new business across our Energy Services product portfolio (including our Energy Transition offerings).
The Business Development Manager will be expected to support the development of new business opportunities, by proactively building a qualified opportunity pipeline, managing inbound enquiries and exploring new avenues of growth
The role demands strong prospecting skills; the ability to spot opportunities, understand different client needs and tailor our value proposition accordingly. You will also need strong negotiation and selling skills as well as a commercial, results-oriented mindset. You will be able to demonstrate solution-oriented thinking and anticipate client questions and demands.
The ideal candidate will also demonstrate strong relationship management skills; the ability to engage at senior level, strong negotiation and selling skills as well as a commercial, results oriented mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a new business pipeline for our Energy Services suite of products – maintain a high lead to sales close conversion rate
- Work through the Total Market Potential list of identified companies – prioritise, research, identify contacts and engage
- Work with the analysts and marketing team to build lead generation campaigns and be responsible for quick follow up with prospects
- Ability to demonstrate all of our Energy Services solutions, being able to tailor the messaging and benefits to different client types
- Participate in and support the launch of new services to market
- Be able to talk about high level market trends to build credibility with prospects, whilst also leveraging the broader team for deeper analyst discussions as required
- Through constant dialogues with prospective clients, you will contribute to the development of our research services to ensure they are improved continuously to meet the client needs
- Gather working knowledge of competitive services and their developments
- Collaborate with colleagues and other internal teams to achieve goals – act as the key point of contact for providing information to other departments on your assigned sector and products to ensure excellent communication and efficient work among all team members.
- Reporting and internal administration to include: CRM activity log, accurate pipeline management, user account administration, creating renewal analysis and preparing professional proposal documentation.
Key Abilities and Characteristics:
- 5 years+ experience selling services content, consulting, or data orientated business solutions
- Experience and knowledge of the Energy industry
- Ability to learn and retain information quickly – success depends on excellent product knowledge and how clients use and value the product
- Analyzing business opportunities, develop effective sales strategies and close business
- Conducting effective presentations to clients at all levels of an organization
- Self-motivated, confident, energetic, proactive with entrepreneurial spirit
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the clear ability to foster effective and collaborative relationships within and across teams and reporting lines
- Knowledge of Salesforce CRM system would be beneficial
